The Upper East Region CWSA has undertaken a wide range of WASH activities over the years leading to the establishment of WASH facilities and accompanying capacity building.
- From 1973 to 2000, three thousand, five hundred (3,500) boreholes were provided under CIDA funded projects.
- From 2000 to 2009, 578no. boreholes, 12no. Small Towns Water Systems (STWS) and 50 Institutional Latrines (ILs) were funded by the IDA/World Bank under the Community Water and Sanitation Project II (CWSP II) and the Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project (STWSSP)
- From 2010 to 2017, the IDA/WB sponsored the construction of WASH facilities under the SRWSP. 246 boreholes, 13 STWS and 65 Institutional Latrines were realized.
- The GoG in collaboration with the Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB) provided 200 solar-powered boreholes to communities across the region. The GoG solely provided 246 boreholes fitted with hand pumps.
- In totality, 4,980 boreholes fitted with hand pumps, 25 STWS, 158 ILs and 2,555 Household Latrines (HHLs) have been provided in the entire region.
